Our First Project for FREE!!
Our first project.... Kitchen Table and Chairs. Our kitchen was just white! White walls, cabinets, flooring, and appliances. Our kitchen table was also white with Oak wood and the chairs were white with cream fabric. This was not not and we needed to add some color, stat! We didn't really have any extra money to buy new furniture, cabinets, or flooring. So we started looking for inexpensive ways to add a splash of color. As we were going through our home looking for ideas, I ran across a set of old blue curtains. I thought they would make a great tablecloth to add some color. Then I thought what if we could cut the curtains into medium squares and patch them over the cream fabric. It was pretty simple to do. It took less than 15 minutes to do all 3 chairs. All you need is an old curtain, scissors, and some thumb tacks. We simply put the curtain squares over the fabric and pinned each side down with a thumb tack under the seat. After that was complete, we just screwed the seat back onto the frame of the chair and we were finished. It added so much color to the kitchen and made the table set look like brand new. We used the left over material from the curtain to make a matching table cloth. It was a totally free project and changed the entire feel of the room. In this economy who can afford to go out and buy all of the materials to change their living space? So I urge you all to go around your home and find things you can recycle to make your living space brighter. Feel free to post any ideas here on the blog. As we continue to do renovations to our home, I will post more ideas. Hope this helps. Best wishes from Tennessee.
